Welcome to Fright Nights!! It was our first time experiencing live scare actors, and we were not disappointed! Fright Nights is a truly terrifying experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good scare. Unfortunately, according to their website, this will be the last year: "2022 will be the final year for the Hollywood Horrors haunted house and will be retired after this Halloween season."

The Painting Panda Pottery Studio was inspired by co-owner Noelle Wilson's passion for pottery painting. Noelle had enjoyed the fun and relaxation of her hobby since college. Most importantly, she appreciated how the activity brought people together - it gave her a sense of community. Noelle explains in this video how she and her husband and co-founder, Herschel, started the Painting Panda Pottery Studio and found community through Spaceworks Tacoma.
One of my favorite things about working at PLU is how much I've learned from the students. I met Ricky when he was a junior at PLU and was impressed with his background and experience so I asked him if he'd like to tell his story - this is what we came up with.
Ricky Haneda '22, a Japanese international student, share his experience at an American international school in Japan, how he decided to attend PLU, and how PLU has shaped his path toward a psychology major and a career in mental health and wellness.

Part of my job at Tacoma Community House is documenting the programs and great things we do to serve our community. Read2Me is one of my favorite programs we offer to encourage young children to read.
A unique tutoring program, Read2Me has trained volunteers to work with Kindergarten–3rd Grade students striving to meet grade-level reading goals by the end of the 3rd grade. By providing one-on-one encouragement and support, tutors help these young students to develop better confidence in their reading abilities, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of reading!

The Tacoma Refugee Choir is a diverse, non-auditioned choral ensemble dedicated to using music’s exceptional power to build a more welcoming community, foster unity, and spark meaningful action and dialogue. We seek to support and befriend former refugees that now call our city home and to use our voice to advocate for greater compassion. Further, we aim to empower choir members and others in our community to use their voice to make a difference.
This video features the choir at the University of Puget Sound's opening for the Race & Pedagogy National Conference.
There were a lot of challenges in trying to get good footage from this performance such as the lighting, good audio, and overall attempt to capture the energy of the performance. Despite the limitations, I'm happy with the video and it was a great experience.
The good news; this video was entered in an online singing competition and was awarded a $5,000 grant for the Tacoma Refugee Choir!
Thank you to the performers and the choir team for trusting me with this video.

Float is a short film set in mid 1990s Seattle, following the day-to-day trials and tribulations of Cambodian-American hustler Rocky Mang. Still living at home with his family, Rocky spends his days cruising the streets of Seattle, slanging cheap goods on the corner as he struggles to help his family make ends meet. Tower Crane Rescue Demonstration at Seattle's newest museum
I had the opportunity to film a tower rescue demonstration at UW's Burke Museum!
Construction in Seattle is booming. Fifty-eight tower cranes dots the skyline, the most in any U.S. City.
Doug Boehm, director of F.I.R.S.T. Choice training, a division of Guardian Fall Protection demonstrates how a worker would be rescued in the event of a fall.
Thank you Skanska, the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, and the University of Washington.
Check out more photos from the Seattle Times: Sky-High Rescue in Seattle, here is what should happen if someone gets hurt way up on a crane.
